What makes a home “multi-gen”?

A multi-generational home is designed to comfortably accommodate more than one generation under one roof—think aging parents, adult children, or extended family. These homes feature private suites, flexible layouts, and shared common areas to balance independence and togetherness.

What’s included in the plan set?

Each plan set includes construction documents, floor plans, elevations, and a cost takeoff spreadsheet. You’ll also receive marketing materials like brochures and 3D renderings to help you promote your project.

What if I build in a different state?

Our plans are designed to be adaptable and code-friendly, but local requirements can vary. We recommend reviewing with your local building department and we’re happy to assist with any necessary adjustments.

What is the reuse fee for?

The reuse fee allows you to build the same plan again at a significantly reduced cost. This makes it affordable to use a successful design across multiple lots or projects.

Do I need a special permit?

Permit requirements vary by location. Some areas require special permits for accessory dwelling units (ADUs) or in-law suites. Our plans are code-conscious and we offer optional zoning and permitting consultation to help you navigate local regulations.

Can I customize these?

Yes! Our plans can be tailored to fit your lot, local codes, or client preferences. We offer optional modifications to ensure the design works for your unique needs.

How fast do I get the files?

Once your order is finalized, you’ll receive digital files promptly—typically within a few business days. Customizations may add a bit more time, but we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

Are your plans ADA compliant?

Many of our designs incorporate universal design and ADA-friendly features, such as accessible entries and adaptable bathrooms. We can also modify plans to meet specific accessibility needs.

How do I explain these to my buyers?

We provide marketing materials, sales scripts, and educational resources to help you communicate the benefits of multi-gen living to your clients. Our team is also available to support your sales efforts with expert guidance.
